  • We are deeply committed to creating an environment where children and young people feel safe, respected, and heard.

Our approach is guided by Queensland’s Child Safe Standards, which emphasise that child safety must be embedded in leadership, culture, and everyday practice.

    We uphold the following principles:

    • The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority

    • Children have the right to feel safe, be listened to, and be taken seriously

    • Families and communities are partners in supporting child safety

    • Cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children is essential

    • All children, regardless of background or identity, are treated with dignity and respect

    We actively:

    • Create safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments

    • Encourage children to express their views and participate in decisions

    • Maintain clear boundaries and professional conduct at all times

    • Regularly review and improve our practices to strengthen child safety

If an organisation is not culturally safe, it is not child safe — and we are committed to embedding this principle across all areas of our work.

  • We comply with Queensland’s Reportable Conduct Scheme under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024.

This means we are required to respond appropriately to any concerns, allegations, or convictions relating to child abuse or misconduct involving workers or volunteers.

    Reportable conduct includes:

    • Sexual offences or sexual misconduct involving a child

    • Ill-treatment or significant neglect of a child

    • Physical violence involving a child

    • Behaviour causing significant emotional or psychological harm

These obligations apply even if the conduct occurs outside of the workplace or does not result in criminal charges.

    We are committed to:

    • Preventing harm to children

    • Providing clear pathways to report concerns

    • Responding promptly and transparently to any allegations

    • Meeting reporting timeframes and cooperating with regulatory bodies

The Reportable Conduct Scheme will apply to all relevant organisations from 1 July 2026.

  • We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

We collect information necessary to provide psychological services and:

    • Store records securely using practice management systems

    • Only share information with your consent (e.g., GP, school), unless required by law

    • Comply with Australian privacy legislation

    Limits to confidentiality include:

    • Risk of harm to yourself or others

    • Concerns about a child’s safety

    • Legal requirements (e.g., subpoena)

  • Psychological services are voluntary and collaborative.

By engaging in services, you acknowledge:

    • You understand the nature and purpose of therapy or assessment

    • You have the right to ask questions at any time

    • You may withdraw consent at any stage

    For children:

    • Parent/guardian consent is required

    • The child’s voice, comfort, and assent are always prioritised

  • As a registered psychologist, we are legally required to report concerns where a child is at risk of harm.

This may occur without your consent if necessary to protect safety.
